Day Walk + Night Walk | Hendon Central

I have been on a few walks these past few weeks for this project, some in my area where a live and some a few stops down the Northern Line just to get a variation. My first walk was around where I live, I took a particular route I could remember but also different from my usual routes on a day to day basis. I wanted to track my route and remember it as I planned on doing it twice, once in the day and the other in the evening. This way I could record both by taking pictures and drawings, and make a comparison in order to see what interesting things I could uncover.

These pictures are of Hendon Central and the surrounding area, day and night.

I like seeing the comparison of night to day and the feeling each picture gives you. The atmosphere of the different times of day were also something to note, especially coming from the point of view of a woman walking of an evening. Walking the route in the day felt normal and no different to a usual walk I would take. However walking in the evening was completely different. I had to be more aware of where I was going and my surroundings as it felt more dangerous, despite it not being very late. It was down to the fact that it was dark outside. I managed to get a drawing out of this route, I used pens and fine liners to do a quick sketch of some trees I found.
